EXPERIENCE

Music Composition: Composed original music for various media including video games and animation, as well as concert works. Edited, mixed, and rendered music and audio files for digital performance using Finale music notation software, MIDI, and various digital audio workstations including Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, and Ableton Live. For live performance, orchestrated music, prepared scores, and conducted various ensembles.

Audio Production: Using industry-standard software such as Pro Tools, carried out audio production duties for a variety of media including video games, animation, and radio. Specific duties included sound design, dialogue editing, recording, mixing, voice-over performance, and game audio implementation in Unity 3D utilizing both editor tools and scripting in C#.

Teaching: Utilized music and audio production skills to provide college-level instruction in the discipline of music industry studies. Utilized knowledge of research methodologies to provide graduate-level instruction in music technology research. Provided instruction and support for students involved in a collaborative extracurricular game audio workshop. Subjects taught include music technology, digital audio production, research methodology, and research project. Responsibilities included providing lecture-based instruction, lab-based instruction, web-enhanced instruction, fully online instruction, and overseeing graduate students’ research projects. Participated in course assessment activities and a multi-campus project-based learning initiative.

Quality Assurance: Examined video game content for bugs and defects with emphasis on text-based issues. Performed copyediting and proofreading duties for game software, instruction manuals, strategy guides, and websites, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of English grammar and style. Further examined game software for issues relating to graphics and functionality. Documented bugs via written reports using proprietary database software. Assisted with ESRB rating submission.

Management: Served as an assistant quality assurance coordinator for a major video game title. Edited bug reports, administered tasks, trained personnel, conducted meetings, and helped ensure completion of work within a deadline. Also served as the production coordinator for a combined TV and radio station, managing and training over 80 staff members and volunteers. Maintained traffic logs, personnel budgets, and other administrative records. Authored and complied multiple operational and procedural handbooks. Supervised the use of facilities and resources.
